Frequently Asked Questions

Early assessment often leads to quicker improvement. We recommend booking an appointment if pain, stiffness or movement difficulties persist or begin to affect daily activities. If you are unsure whether physiotherapy or podiatry is appropriate, you can speak with your GP or contact our clinic for guidance.

A physiotherapist assesses how your body moves and functions to identify the cause of pain, stiffness or reduced mobility. Treatment may include hands-on therapy, exercise rehabilitation, education and guidance to support recovery, improve movement and reduce the risk of symptoms returning.

A podiatrist specialises in the assessment, treatment and management of conditions affecting the feet and lower limbs. This includes nail and skin conditions, foot pain, walking or balance issues and conditions that affect mobility. Podiatrists also help manage ongoing foot health concerns and support comfort, function and independence at all stages of life.

Yes. Physiotherapy is commonly used to help manage back pain by improving movement, reducing pain and addressing contributing factors such as strength, posture and load management. Your physiotherapist will tailor treatment to the cause of your symptoms and how they affect your daily life.

Physiotherapy is an evidence-based healthcare profession and is widely recommended for the management of pain, injury and movement problems. While outcomes vary depending on the condition and individual factors, many people experience meaningful improvements with a structured physiotherapy programme.

Treatment depends on your assessment and may include hands-on therapy, exercise rehabilitation, education and self-management strategies. Where appropriate, treatments such as dry needling, acupuncture or orthotic prescription may also be used as part of your care plan.

Dry needling is a physiotherapy technique used to help reduce muscle tension, relieve pain and improve movement. It involves inserting fine needles into specific muscle points to help normalise muscle activity. Dry needling is always used as part of a broader physiotherapy treatment plan, not as a standalone treatment.

No referral is required to attend physiotherapy or podiatry. However, if you have referral letters, scan reports or other medical information, it can be helpful to bring these to your appointment.

We do not operate a waiting list. Most patients are seen within a short timeframe, and same-day appointments may be available. Early morning and late evening appointments are also offered to help fit around work and family commitments.

Your first appointment includes a detailed assessment where your clinician will listen to your history, assess movement and explain what is contributing to your symptoms. Treatment often begins at the first session, along with guidance on exercises or self-management strategies.

Wear comfortable clothing that allows you to move easily. Shorts are often helpful for lower limb or back concerns. If attending the clinic for a foot treatment, we will need to see your feet, so best to avoid wearing tights.  If needed, suitable clothing can be provided at the clinic.

Standard appointments are typically around 30 minutes. Longer appointments may be recommended in certain cases, depending on your condition and treatment needs.

The number of sessions varies depending on the nature of your condition and how you respond to treatment. Your clinician will discuss a realistic treatment plan and expected timeframes following your assessment.

Most Irish health insurance providers offer cover for treatment with a Chartered Physiotherapist, and many policies also include cover for podiatry. The level of reimbursement depends on your individual policy, annual limits and any excess that may apply. We recommend checking directly with your insurer to confirm what is covered under your plan.
