Clinical Pilates

Physio-led Clinical Pilates to support recovery and confident movement

Clinical Pilates at Total Care Clinic is a physiotherapist-supervised service designed to support recovery, rebuild strength and restore confidence in movement. It is ideal for those who require close guidance and structured progression following injury, surgery or periods of reduced activity.

If you are looking for physio Pilates rather than general studio-based classes, Clinical Pilates offers medically informed exercise in a small-group setting.

Who Clinical Pilates is suitable for

Clinical Pilates may be appropriate if you are managing lower back pain, recovering from injury, or returning to exercise after time away. Many participants join after completing one-to-one physiotherapy and wish to continue strengthening safely under professional supervision.

An initial physiotherapy assessment ensures exercises are tailored to your condition, ability and long-term goals.

How Clinical Pilates works

Sessions are supervised by a Chartered Physiotherapist and limited to a maximum of four participants. This allows individualised exercise programmes, close monitoring and safe progression within a supportive group environment.

Exercises focus on improving core control, spinal stability, strength, mobility and gradual tolerance to load. Progressions are introduced carefully as confidence and capacity improve, and sessions may form part of a structured return-to-activity or return-to-sport pathway.

Programme structure and bookings

Clinical Pilates is delivered in structured six-week blocks following an initial physiotherapy assessment. This ensures the programme is appropriate for your condition, goals, and stage of recovery before joining a small-group setting.

Bookings are arranged through reception to ensure correct placement, and sessions are scheduled and tracked using our Total Care Studio App. This enables secure management of class attendance and progression, while your physiotherapist monitors your progress throughout the programme and adjusts exercises as needed.
